Is Acer Aspire Nitro 7 Worth It?

If you are looking for a great performing laptop at an affordable price, then the Acer Aspire Nitro 7 may be your best choice.

This is one of the thinnest (only 9 mm thick) 15.6-inch laptops I have ever tested. While it is not the lightest 1366×768 pixel display weighing in at 2 pounds, the Nitro 7 is by far the thinner model with much more room inside. There is still 1 USB port, which is something to consider when choosing a travel notebook.

The keyboard area does feel narrow, but that is only because there is less space between the keys than in most other notebooks with similar-sized keyboards. Even though this is a nitpicky issue, it is still worth mentioning.

Upon opening the computer, the first thing you will notice is how big the battery jar is compared to the size of the rest of the machine. That alone tells me they spared no expense designing and making this laptop.

Speaking of cost, the Acer Aspire Nitro 7 came in just under $500, which is extremely budget-friendly. Not only was it cheaper than other similarly featured laptops, but it was also slightly faster and had better build quality.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I have to say that this is one of my favorite laptops out there for now. The size is great, the performance is fine and the price is great. It’s definitely worth giving a try if you are looking for a good laptop at an affordable price.

There are just a couple of minor issues with it. The first is the screen. While it does have a 2K player, it is not the full color which can be very annoying during game runs or when watching movies.

The second issue I have with the laptop is that it doesn’t come with a kickstand. Even though I stated in the article why this isn’t a problem for me, some people might find it difficult to use the laptop without a proper holder.

However, these are small negatives compared to how much this laptop costs, and the quality wise is still better than most other similarly priced laptops. I would love to see more RAM upgrades and a larger battery but apart from that it is a wonderful little machine.”
